McIntosh Puzzle Piece Fundraiser

Helps us bring the missing piece of our family puzzle home.  We are a family of three looking to be a family of 4 or 5.  Kelly and Frank met in 2006 and formed a strong relationship.  In 2007, we were married and started a wonderful life together.  In 2009, we decided it was time to welcome another member of our family.  However, it took two years before Laiclan made his appearance.  There were complications with the pregnancy and a traumatic labor and birth.  Laiclan almost didn’t make it and Kelly didn’t fair very well either.  After talking to the doctors, it was decided that another pregnancy was too big of a risk to take.  So began our discussion of adoption as an option to grow our family.  We researched it and talked about it for three years before committing to it.  Laiclan is now four years old and loves the idea of having a baby brother or sister.

The cost of adoption is high and can run $30,000 to $40,000 in total.  While we are financially secure and can support another child in the day-to-day expenses, the initial investment into adoption is a bit daunting.  We are doing fundraisers to help offset the costs. Help us bring Baby McIntosh home by participating in our Puzzle Piece Fundraiser.  At this time, we currently have 59 edge pieces sponsored through previous donations (pictured in the red bowl below).  We would like to complete the puzzle, with your help.

We have selected a 750-piece puzzle; every piece symbolizing someone who helped bring Baby McIntosh home.  There are two levels of sponsorship:  you can sponsor an edge piece for $20.00 or an inner piece for $10.00.   People may choose to be one piece of the puzzle or several pieces of the puzzle, and their names will be written on the back of each piece they represent.

After the puzzle is completed, we will frame the puzzle between two pieces of glass and hang it in our child's room. This will be a wonderful keepsake to see all the people who helped bring Baby McIntosh home.

Every piece in a puzzle is important.  Without one, the puzzle is incomplete.  Thank you for helping to complete our puzzle.

For our puzzle, we chose a beautiful Thomas Kinkade Disney Winnie the Pooh puzzle:

Fundraisers and expenses

The month of December 2015 went well for us.  We were able to raise $1230.14 from three different fundraisers:  Puzzle Piece Fundraiser, Avon Fundraiser, and Jamberry Fundraiser.  The T-shirt Sales has ended and I expect to get another $48.00 from those sales. I was also able to sell my personal elliptical for $200 which went for our adoption expenses.

I still have some Bracelets from Haiti to sell.  I started with 150 and have sold 87.  I still have 63 bracelets to sell in the next couple of weeks.

There are still plenty of puzzle pieces to be sponsored.  They are $20.00 for edge pieces and $10.00 for all other pieces.

I also have two new fundraisers starting.  Over the next 2-3 weeks I will have a Tupperware Fundraiser and an Origami Owl Fundraiser.  These are both great products and both will contribute 40% of all sales to our adoption expenses.

We have been able to cover the Home Study fees of $1,250 (between personal funds and a fundraising).  We are still trying to raise the agency fee of $8,000 in order to start getting matched with a baby/birthmother.  Please consider participating in one of our fundraisers or making a donation.

Looking forward to another great month!

Tupperware Fundraiser

Here is a great opportunity to get products by Tupperware!  You can get anything from water bottles to food containers to cookie cutters and measuring cups.  This is a well known brand that makes wonderful long lasting products.  The best part is that Tupperware is donating 40% of the total sales to our adoption expenses.

Check out our Tupperware fundraiser at:

BRACELETS FROM HAITI ARE HERE!

I have partnered with Apparent Project for a wonderful fundraiser opportunity!  If you are interested in helping two worthy causes at once with one low price, then here it is.

I am selling these bracelets for $10.00.  If you are not in the area, I can ship them to you for $3.00.  $5.00 will go towards my adoption expenses and $5.00 will go towards helping families in Haiti stay together and build a future.

The Story of the Bracelets

You can bless Haiti and keep families together at the same time.  You can help moms and dads who WANT to parent their children.  These Moms and dads are willing to put their hands to work in order to keep their families intact - to provide shelter and education for their children.  The Apparent Project also helps Haitians who want to go to school or start a business.  You can do all the above while, at the same time, helping us (the McIntosh Family) reach our goal of adoption.

These beautiful bracelets are made from recycled material by the hands of the Haitian people and sold to support their goal of supporting their families.  We also want to support our goal of growing our family.  Therefore, it just made sense to partner with this organization and support both our goals.

Each bracelet comes with a biography of the artisan who made it.  When you read these biographies, stories about people just trying to survive, trying to find secure shelter you will not be able to feel sorry for yourself.  Ever again.  Your children will catch a glimpse of this too.

You can purchase one by sending me an email with the following information:
Your name
Your address (if requesting the bracelet to be shipped)
How many bracelets you would like.
How you would like to pay for the bracelet.  Payment can be made by check, cash, or PayPal.

Note:  If you would like to mail a check, I will respond with my mailing address.  PayPal Payments must include the 2.9% PayPal fee and can be made by clicking on the Donate button on my homepage.

Thank you for your help!
